How common is bullying?

In a study of bullying in 120 schools in Northern Ireland (in the year 2000), 40% of primary pupils said that they had been bullied recently. Twenty five per cent admitted to bullying another pupil. When secondary pupils were asked, 30% said that they had been bullied recently and 28% said that they bullied another pupil.
